  1. Quito is 9,350 feet above sea level.  The temperature drops about 3.5°F for every 1000 feet of altitude.  Currently it is 55°F (12.8°C). If Quito were at sea level the temperature would be closer to 87°F (30.5°C).  3.5 x 9.35 = 32.75+55 = 87°F.

Quito's elevation causes a -32.75°F decrease in temperature.  It has a mild climate due to it's altitude and position on the Equator.  Temperatures remain constant throughout the year.

Quito's annual rainfall is 40 inches (100cm) and is affected by ocean currents and not by altitude.

Temperatures drop 1°C for every 100 meters of altitude.

I'm not very good with Celsius.
