If you don't mind saying (what the heck, we don't know each other). I'm trying to see if I'm underpaid. I've been at my job for 10 years, am a P3 (without a PG license), and make ~$59,000 annually. I think I deserve more, but I'll deal with that later. First my fact-finding mission...

  1. It depends on the part of the country you are in as well as the specific field. I'm a state environmental regulator with 7 years experience and I make about $60,000

  2. Currently $50K plus bonuses (which amount to an additional ~$5K annually).  I live in one of the highest cost-of-living areas in the US, and it aint enough.

Staff 2 geologist (lots of geotech and slope stability related work), MS degree, been at my current private consulting firm for 2 years, before this I worked for my State survey for 2 years and barely made $40K there.

    I think we're all underpaid!  :)

  3. 20 years in field, project manager and PG (CA), around 80,000 including car, gas, bonuses, etc.

  4. Petroleum geologist >30 years experience.  Salary and bonuses >$200k. Also throw in medical, dental, 401k, profit sharing in lieu of pension

  5. I have master's degree, 4 yrs on current job (groundwater quality), and 3 yrs on other fields. I'll get my PG (CA) this October. Sallary: about $40,000 and something.

    Thinking of moving job, though.
