  1. if you ever see a letter next to a letter of number next to a letter it emans mulitply

    PD

    P7

    7P

they all have to be multiplied.

    so in your case..

    the equation is (-7)(-1)

when you multiply a negative by a negative .. it will always be a positive.. meaning you just multiply the number.

    so.. if 7 times 1 is 7

    -7 tims -1 is  7.

the answer to this problem is 7

  2. big - small

    -1 is bigger than -7.

    -1 - (-7)

    = -1 + 7

    = 6

  3. draw out a time line, and then count the difference between -7 and -1

or just take the minus (-) signs away completely and pretend it's 7 and 1.  then you just find the difference... so 7-1=?

    yupp, 6

  4. 6
