A regulation baseball has a circumference of 9 inches; a regulation softball has a circumference of 12 inches.

Find the volume of the baseball in cubic inches

Find the volume of the softball in cubic inches

Find the surface of the baseball in square inches

Find the surface of the softball in square inches

  1. Volume of a sphere is 4/3πr³

    Surface area of a sphere is 4πr²

    Normally I'd just plug in the numbers. However you did NOT ask for volume and area of sphere's with stated circumference, but for the volume and area of a baseball and softball.

    These are irregularly shaped due to the stitching and calculation would be very complicated.
