Geometry homework help! im clueless on what all this is! please help!?

the second day of school and i have homework but anyway..... heres what i need help with:

1)A section of the US west of the Mississippi river is called the Great Plains. Explain why this area may be called a plane and how it is unlike a mathematical plane.

2) Explain why a stretched string is not a line.

3)Name 3 things in real life that can be represented by a point.

4) Name 3 things in real life that can be represented by a line.

5) Name 3 things in real life that can be represented by a plane.

i have no idea what any of the answers are so if you could please explain how you got to the answer that would really help, like i said before, im compleately clueless.

  1. Haha, Ok, I'll try my best (haven't had geometry in 3 years)

    1.  Just look at the definition of plane...it's simple (I'll leave it to u:-)

    2.  A string is discontinuous (definite) while a number line is continuous-never-ending. (This is why u put the arrows at the end of each line!)

    3.  This is a broad statement but whatever.  Maybe a pencil mark/tip, haha, I can't think of any more but think circular/limited to a specific area...

    4.  The horizon? possibly, if ur teacher means like a number line (never-ending), think of something that never ends (a line)

    5.  A plane is a two-dimensional manifold or surface that is perfectly flat.  So, perhaps a piece of paper, a desktop, the floor
