and it has a line with the bottom slanted to the right going through the right of the S. sorry if this is confusing but idk how to draw it on the computer. plz help in whatever way you can!! the answer key in the back of the book said the answer was 10 1/4. but i dnt know how to do it and im not cheating i was just seeing what kind of answer they were looking for, cuz with geometry, you never know lol.

  1. RT would be found just by adding 5 1/8  plus 5 1/8 you may just need to find the points of R and T then plug it into the formula.

  2. This question is basically testing if you know what a segment bisector is. a segment bisector basically just divides a segment into two equal pieces.

It is given that l bisects RST at S so you know that S is the midpoint of the segment. So you can figure out that RS=ST (by the definition of midpoint).

Since you know that RS is 5 1/8 in. you can see that ST is also 5 1/8 in. when you add the two together you get the entire segment and a length of 10 1/4 in.
