1). Given: Line BD is a median of triangle ABC.

AD = 2x+10.

DC = x+15.

Find the measure of line AD.

  1. 1) 'median' means it divides AC into 2 equal bits. Therefor, AD=DC; or 2x+10=x+15.

    So x=5 and AD=20.

    2) A triangle's altitude is ALWAYS perpendicular to the base it's on. So the angle is 90 degrees.

    3) You gave the wrote link. I assume by the information you wrote that the answer is 20. Both sides are the same, and one of them is 10.

    4) It is an altitude. It's perpendicular to the base, and goes through the angle opposite from the base.

    5) Median. It divides DF into 2 equal parts.
