Geometry required? ?

Class of 2010

I'm a junior in high school and I do not plan on taking geometry. I'm well at math and science, and in fact I'm going to take pre-calculus this year, and for 12th grade I'll take AP Calculus.

Will this look bad when applying to colleges not taking geometry? ( I plan on attending Michigan State University.)

Can I still do well on the SAT/ACT without taking geometry?

How bad can this affect/effect me?

  1. If you understand Geometry enough, you can test out of the class. The ACT and SAT both have large parts dealing with geometry. I know this because I took them in March. College admissions look at a whole lot, not just what classes you took, although they are important. Talk to your guidance counselor, they know more than you think they do.

  2. go in and talk to your counselor. they are just the person to consult when talking about scheduling, classes, ACT/SAT, graduation, college. and all that stuff.
