George Bailey looks for a comeback at Edgbaston - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480, the Australian top-order batsman, said that the morale in the Aussie camp is still high despite the poor start from his side which includes defeats at Lord’s and The Oval during the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series against their
traditional rivals.
The visitors came to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Forrest-c2176 into the squad following the departure
of veterans like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, who was given break due to the birth of his child.
However, the picture isn’t too rosy for the tourists who were twice let down by their batting in the ongoing series. The patchy performances from the Australian batting line ensured the hosts to go a step ahead at crucial moments.
The Tasmanian however, believes that despite the initial disappointments, the team is hungry and upbeat to make a strong comeback in the series, starting with the third match at Edgbaston.
"The risk is you get on the bus and there's a really quiet group, but the mood in the camp is not like that. It's really upbeat, there's joking, there's banter and there's talk about what we can do differently and the things we are going to try,” Bailey
told reporters
England is vying for a rare feat by handing a whitewash to the tourists and in process, becoming the top-ranked ODI side in the world - a possibility which hasn’t escaped the 29-year-old, who said that the visitors are capable enough to thwart any such assertions.
"If we play as well as we should, it will be very difficult for them to win 5-0,” the right-hand batsman said.
For Bailey, the recipe for English success is doing the basics right. "They are doing the basics better than us. But that's the exciting thing. We haven't played very good cricket yet," the Australian batsman admitted.
The third match of the series will be played on July 4, with the hosts going all-out to seal their seventh consecutive home triumph, while the tourists will be hoping to keep the five-match series alive.
