  1. Firstly, Iraq is irrelevant to this. I don't think that Moscow gives a d**n what the west think, particularly Bush, he's just "Chief Cowboy" as far as Russia is concerned. So no, his words are meaningless. Russian Leaders, especially Putin are still smarting from the break-up of the once mighty "Soviet" empire [Putin was a KGB General under that regime] and they dont like the fact that Georgia's president is a supporter of the West and the EU. Also, the Russians know how strategically important Georgia's black sea ports / Oil pipelines are to the Western Alliance.

  2. Absolutely not.

His words in the world have meant less since the invasion of Iraq. Many countries have lost respect for the United States, sadly.

  3. gosh why everything gotta be about war!!

what's wrong with this bush man anyways?

  4. It was only an illegal invasion if you look at from the Iraqi stand point.  He had the full and legal OK from the American political system.

  5. Bush isn't right!

It's informational war! Many mass media in USA in Europe tells not true!

GEORGIA bombed Ossetia for 2 days and all European and American mass media kept silence! But when Russia decided to stop the war, everebody made noise!

GEORGIA (not Russia) used fire system GRAD to destroy all usual people...they fired on schools, hospitals, houses...everything... They city is destroyed.

Words of refugees say about this.

    And read also this:

  6. America has a history of Supporting AGGRESSORS.

Georgia attacked south ossetia as they want to be part of Russia. Georgia considers South Ossetia as part of them. Georgia attacked them to try and regain control of the region.

Russia attacks Georgia in defense of South ossetia as they have Russian citizenships. Russia is attacking Georgia in defence of the people of South Ossetia.

so how are the Russians the aggressors???

It doesn't help with the US encouraging Georgia to join NATO.

This only proves that America loves killing people and their support for aggressors show that.

the line that sums up America is

"do as i say not as i do"

  7. No, nor anywhere else in the world!

  8. Bush has no right telling Russia what to do.  But then he had no right invading Iraq but did it anyway.  It's a matter of 'Don't do as I do, do as I say"'.  Cheeky bugger.

  9. You know to tell the thruth the ordinary Iraqies dont mind the "American Occupation" they just are happy the war and Saddam are over ! One interesting issue  I never heard any ordinary Iraq civilian to say that were attacked by USA .....Ordinary People in Iraq will not call Bush a hero but they feel his invasion did help them life ! And they really think its their salvation ! In fact if you look on the Iraq'ees they do not even feel Occupied I think the People of Iraq might as well be for the US-IRAQ war the poll should be made in Iraq  in the People who are its subject If the Iraq people will say the invasion was legitimate Bush had the right to Invade Iraq even without Weapons of mass destruction ! You need to think in that contesct we know Why Bush invaded Iraq and we know what it did for Iraq and the thing that happen Iraq supports the theory that USA this time had the right to go in Iraq. Cause not only USA is stealing Iraq oil but also helping the People to live their normal lives there the same US army which securing the Oil for Bush also released milions of Political prissoners of the Saddam regime and thus allowed this prisioners to go back to their wifes and childrens. So even if USA did this for the oil the way the USA is allowed milions of people to live better than in Saddam times ...In Iraq there are people who actually want the americans to stay as long as possible lol every thing has its two side the war in Iraq also had a double sided effect ! The evil one and good !  You need to understand this !

  10. Nope.

I hope they don't. George Bush is anyway the last person who'se advice should be taken on this topic!

  11. Well considering the UN has done nothing about Darfur, and did nothing in Rwanda, i wonder what it would take for the UN to do anything anywhere!

If the USA and UK went unilaterally into Darfur, in the eyes of the UN it would be illegal! But morally it would be right!

As someone of Iraqi origin myself (Ethnic Assyrian & thus Christian also), it may surprise people in the west (especially anglo-pakistanis like Kamran) that most Iraqis themselves actually supported the war, or at least acceptrd it as necessary.....completely at odds with the Stop The War mob and British Muslims who couldnt find Iraq on a map!

Saddam was a genocidal brutal, fascistic, racist savage. The USA and UK did the right thing in removing him!

Iraqis werent so happy that the PEACE was ballsed up, AFTER the war...thats what went wrong in Iraq.

However at least now Iraq has Democracy, races like the Kurds, Assyrians, Turcoman, Armenians, Mandeans, and Shabaks are not being exterminated en masse anymore.

I didnt see the Anti War brigade protesting when Saddam was slaughtering and ethnically cleansing Iraq, or invading Kuwait and Iran!

Russia and Georgia is totally different. Georgia is a democracy, South Ossetia has ALWAYS been part of Georgia. Georgia gave Ossetians a degree of Autonomy WITHIN Georgia.

The Russians stepped in and gave the S Ossetians Russian passports( Ossetians are NOT ethnic Russians), thus giving them the pretext to interfere in the region.

The Russians then sent in armed "peacekeepers" and armed and encouraged Ossetian seperatists to continually attack Georgia..knowing Georgia would eventually have to respond, giving the Russians the opportunity and excuse to annex South Ossetia.

South Ossetia is traversed by Russian Oil and Gas pipelines, Georgia, unlike Brutal Russia, is a parliamentary, western style democracy, it wants to join NATO and become aligned with the EU....These are the reasons Russia is attacking.

The difference between Iraq and Georgia is Iraq was ruled by a brutal, vile, racist, mass killer, and he was attacked by civilised democracies, Georgia is a civilised democracy, and is being attacked by the brutal, primitive, corrupt and violent Russians.

    Shlama!

PS; Kamran really does loathe any democratic western style nation, i cannot take anything he says seriously, particularly his offensive comments on my country, iraq.

PPS - Stazek is one of the few westerners on here who seem to understand the Iraq situation

  12. no... pot calling the kettle black?

  13. if it does then they are foolish

  14. Considering the US has invaded several nations (Grenada,Iraq,Afghanistan),has trade sanctions with many other nations including Australia and NZ,has used covert operations in just about every South American country, has occupational military bases in nearly every European country and had made threats to China,Russia, North Korea,Iran, it is just a little bit rich,

However you cannot judge the whole US nation by the actions of a few of their politicians,Thatcher and Blair were just as war hungry

  15. Yes, because missiles talk!

  16. he should know.

  17. Iraq has nothing to do with anything.

Bush's words wouldn't hold water with Russia at any point in time.

Although Russia is one of the few things in this world I trust less than Bush.

  18. nobody listens to the lame duck.

  19. illegally?

    Are you drunk?

    Col du Galibier:

    you said

"Just what was Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili doing declaring war on a super power like Russia in the first place, has the man lost his marbles.

There can only be one outcome. Calling for a cease fire is a bit late once you have done this. Russia aren't simply going to stop until they see fit too I'm afraid

As for president Bush saying it's unacceptable that's a joke considering he illegally invaded and occupied Iraq, his words will hold no weight in Moscow I'm afraid :)"

    ----------------

illegally invading Iraq is the only issue I have with this statement. Otherwise, I completely agree with you.

  20. I support Russia.
