Where do you stand? I mean they say that that will lower the prices of gas. But on the other hand it's wrong, because of all the animals thet will die and everything. But where do you stand?

  1. I think the bigger issue is energy independence rather than gas prices.  With there being no immediate alternative to oil, we need to make sure that our country isn't dependent on foreign countries.  We still need to invest in alternative energy sources, more efficient technologies and better transportation systems.  Keep in mind that most "clean" energy sources will have negative effects on the environment.

  2. When looking at the details, its what under the floor that counts. We need oil. BADLY. We have oil in huge amounts sitting right offshore. The logical course of action is to drill. Twenty years ago this might not have been a good idea, today it is essential. We need out of a recession, and raw resources are the perfect way to recover! We need to act, otherwise we might suffer horribly.

  3. I support the off shore drilling.  It will lower gas prices in the long run drastically and no other solution is really feasible as of right now.  It's not going to kill animals unless there is a major oil spill which due to modern day technology is highly unlikely.  The oil rigs off in the gulf of Mexico suffered little to no leakage after Hurricane Katrina so I'm all for it.

  4. Whatever it takes to make the usa self sufficient. It wont kill any animals ,

  5. Ok first of all the EPA is so strick that the animals would be safe. We already drill in the Gulf of Mexico. So I would say that we are already mining in the ocean.

  6. I think we're already doing that.

  7. what animals have died? we  have fished off of oil rigs because fish use these for cover.and the alskan caribou have increased three fold since the pipe line went in due to the tundra being thawed under it exposing the food they eat.don't buy into that liberal eco c**p.it is a lie.they know it,we know it!

  8. if we can do it without effecting the ocean I would say do it.

  9. I stand mostly in my kitchen, that's when I'm cooking.  In the other rooms i usually sit.

  10. That's just his sucker-bait today. He knows two things; It would make no difference in the price of crude being driven up by commodity futures speculation; It is the States' call, not his.

  11. That sounds like a good place for Bush to be. Maybe he can take Cheney with him.

  12. It might help a little in the short term, but it would be best if we'd start relying more on renewable sources of energy (wind, nuclear, cellulosic ethanol.) and raise fuel efficiency standards now.

  13. I think this is the best thing for us to do! As far as foreign oil is concerned if they think that we are going to go in and get our own oil they will come down on the price because they will want us to continue to use their supplies. If we have our own supplies why would we need theirs? I f i had a customer that was tired of paying my price for something and started talking about getting it somewhere else or on their own, it would be in my best interest to do what it would take to keep them as a customer, even if that ment lowering the price of my good! I dont think that drilling off the coast would harm the animals. Someone else wa talking about Karina and the oil rigs and they were right. During Katrina they had minor damage and no oil spills. We should however continue to work on other energy sources for the future, but if gas, energy and food continue to go up then how will we afford everyday living to get to the future?
