George David’s Rambler 90 wins Maxi class in Les Voiles de St. Barth – Sailing Update
Spectators witnessed a marvellous finish to the 2012 Les Voiles de St. Barth, where fleets from several classes including Maxi, Spinnaker, IRC, Classic and Multihull had a brilliant sailing experience. The most interesting competitions were seen in the Maxi
class where America’s George David on his Rambler 90 hit the fleet victory with impressive sailing skills.
The fleet had some ideal wind conditions on the Caribbean waters which helped them finish the scheduled racing on time. The winds were fluctuating in the middle of the regatta but that did not affect the proceedings at all and the participants crossed the
finish line successfully.
George David’s 90-foot Rambler hit four bullets during the racing week. He successfully retained his glory of the Les Voiles. David grabbed the previous two editions of the regatta and hoped to maintain his top position this year as well. The American sailor
now feels quite ecstatic after clinching the title once again.
David managed to put in a brilliant performance and take a convincing victory in the Maxi class. He showed off his tremendous sailing skills as the Rambler dominated the proceedings. While speaking to the local media after his success, David appreciated
the challenges that Les Voiles presented to the sailors and complimented the complexity of the course. He also complimented the racing committee for doing a tremendous job managing the event.
He further commented on the fact that he felt that he had some luck on his side which gave him some advantage while racing. David also appreciated the hard work and dedication that his team has shown throughout.
