George Guru to land a victory in the Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap at Lingfield
The Class 2 Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap will be taking place at Lingfield on 24th March, 2012 where eight runners will be competing over 1 mile for a purse of £10,221. George Guru is one of the strongest competitors in this line-up
among Axiom, Reve De Nuit, Final Drive, Hung Parliament, Kingscroft, Dubai Dynamo and Titan Triumph.
George Guru has performed in an incredible manner this season.  Under the training of Michael Attwater, the five-year-old gelding is excelling on the race-track. Rewinding to the beginning of the season, the son of Ishiguru, out of Waraqa, finished as a
runner-up in the 32Redbet.com Handicap (London Mile Qualifier) at Kempton on 24th January, 2012. With Mark Coumbe, he was persistent till the final furlong as he lost to race favourite Maverik by a narrow margin of a neck.
He shone through the Williamhill.com Handicap at Kempton on 11th February, 2012 which he entered as favourite with odds of 11to 4. Paired with Coumbe again, the duo was set to emerge victorious from the race. He defeated Dunhoy by 1 ¼ lengths.
He finished second in his most recent race at Lingfield in the Mike Lilley 60th Birthday Handicap on 3rd March, 2012 where he was defeated by Forceful Appeal by 1 length. Attwater and his owner, T.M Jones believes that he is capable
of performing in a better manner in this race.
Competing against George Guru is Titan Triumph, whose recent victory has made his connections confident about his chances in this race. Trained by William Knight, he showed promise in the Breathe Spa At Marriott Lingfield Handicap at Lingfield on 2nd
March, 2012. The son of Zamindar, out of Triple Green, started at a steady pace and eventually gained speed in the final 100 yards. His finish was followed closely by Dozy Joe who finished within a margin of a nose.
His victory is also speculated because his triumph took place at Lingfield, which gives a considerable advantage over the other runners. His performance remarkably improved as his seasonal debut was less impressive. He raced as a favourite but finished fourth
in the Forest Row Handicap on 7th January, 2012 at Lingfield.
Kingscroft’s recent second finish shows his improved form. Trained by Mark Johnston, the son of Antonius Pius, out of mare Handsome Anna, finished as a runner-up in his seasonal debut in the William Hill Lincoln Trial Handicap at Wolverhampton on 10th
March, 2012 when he raced with Joe Fanning.
Racing with Fanning again may be an advantage because he led him to his placed finish in his recent race. This improves his chances of landing another placed finish.
The speculation is that George Guru will succeed in this race based on his past performances in this season. Titan Triumph, the eight-year-old gelding, may challenge his run to the finish and Kingscroft might finish in third.
