George Hill bundles 24, Indiana Pacers outmatch Milwaukee Bucks 125 – 104 – NBA Recap
The Indiana Pacers put in a polished display against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center to outgun the home side 125 – 104 on Saturday. The Bucks were in the game before halftime but the Pacers upped the tempo further after the break to seal the impressive
win.
Pacers guard George Hill put in the star shift with 24 points and 5 assists coming off the bench. His performance provided the team with the extra impetus they needed to win the game.
"It's all I could think about last night. Everybody tells me I'm too hard on myself, but I had zero points (Thursday night vs. Washington). I think I was 0-for-5 and I knew it was shots that I normally hit. It just didn't go my way. Sometimes you live by
the shot, sometimes you die. That night I died, tonight I lived." He said.
Roy Hibbert was also influential for the Pacers, with 16 points and 9 boards. David West and Danny Granger had identical numbers; 15 points and 7 rebounds each.
Ersan Ilyasova has been a revelation this NBA season for the Bucks and he continued his good work tonight with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Brandon Jennings had 12 points and 5 assists while new arrival Monta Ellis scored 11 with 6 assists.
"It was an energy game and they had all of it. They were around the rim, they were in the paint, they were making multiple efforts. We just had difficulty competing with their energy." Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles said after the game.
The game started off evenly, in fact the first quarter was extremely close. Neither side was able to gain an advantage over the other and by the end the Pacers were lucky to have their noses in front at 29 – 26.
The second was played in a similar vein and the two teams were pretty much inseparable with just 2:55 remaining on the clock, the score 48 – 47 to Indiana. The Pacers then went on a 9 – 1 run to finish the first half up at 57 – 48.
The Bucks were expected to come out firing after the break, but it was the third frame where the game got away from them. The Pacers were much more efficient in attack, piling on 35 points in the segment, with the Bucks only managing 28. At the end therefore
they were staring at a 92 – 76 deficit.
The Bucks knew it would be hard in the final 12 minutes to mount a comeback, and the Pacers never gave them a chance by keeping the pressure up. In the end, the game petered out to a close at 125 – 104.
