George Klein captures Men’s 200m breast-stroke title – 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals
The 22-year-old George Klein captured the title of Men’s 200m breast-stroke meet on the final day of the 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals in Athens, Georgia, USA. The breast-stroke event was the third meet of the final session, while the championship will conclude
after the completion of all swimming events.
AUB’s Klein qualified as the fastest breast-stroke swimmer in the final rounds, as he clocked a time of 2 minutes and 19.72 seconds in the preliminary rounds. Later on, the fastest swimmer improved his timing with a considerable distance of 1.32 seconds
to clock 2 minutes and 18.40 seconds for the gold medal.
He was followed by Kenneth Crapse of CARD, who stayed prominently away from him and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 20.39 seconds for the silver medal. The 21-year-old Crapse was 1.07 seconds away from his following competitor, Gunnar G Bentz of DYNA, who
posted a third fastest time of 2 minutes and 21.46 seconds for the bronze medal.
Moments later, Jake B Matysek of SwimMAC Carolina dominated the fourth fastest spot of the swim. The 19-year-old Matysek stayed only 0.36 seconds behind the bronze medallist and reported in a time of 2 minutes and 21.82 seconds. Ala Rabstejnek of DYNA was
the fifth best swimmer of the four-lap swim, as he finished his swim behind Matysek, with a timing of 2 minutes and 22.19 seconds. For the sixth fastest spot of the discipline, Luke M Hoffer of NAVY stayed almost one second behind Rabstejnek and concluded
his swim in a notable time of 2 minutes and 23.77 seconds.
Andrew S Braun of LAK remained nearly two seconds behind the sixth finisher and concluded his swim for the seventh spot, in a time of 2 minutes and 25.28 seconds. Brett Roberson of ABSC was the eighth position holder, as he clocked a time of 2 minutes and
27.37 seconds.
The arena enjoyed the impressive swims of all participants, while the position holders were awarded medals for their immaculate swims after the conclusion of all swimming events.
