George Laraque signs with Habs?

4.5 M over 3 years,

Does this do enough to address Montreal's lack of toughness.

As a minimum Komisarik no longer has to be the top enforcer.

Seems like a decent deal.

Thoughts?

  1. That's amazing.

    Im so happy for Georges.

He should be on the Laps or Komi's line :)

  2. that's enough, we didn't really need him seriously but it's a good move - I don't know 4.5 over 3 years is a little big...

  3. d**n!  And here's the Senators without McGratton...

  4. A nice guy, that's tough as anyone... good choice.

  5. I am pretty excited about this.  Sounds like a good fair deal to me.  That will help the toughen things up a bit.

  6. A better version of Chris Nilan it looks to me.Plus a hometown boy doesn't hurt as well.

  7. To be honest, I liked Georges when he came to Pittsburgh.

But i quit liking him because my ideal type of enforcer is one that can actually score goals... & he is NOT that type.

  8. He got WAYYYY over paid.

Being a Pens fan, I like seeing Laraque bring in some cash.  But he seriously is only a enforcer and nothing else.  He brings nothing else to a team.  And when you look at teams like Detroit who do good almost every year, they do it without an enforcer role.  George is going to do what he did in Pittsburgh, and that is take up room, not produce any offense, and punch some people.  Montreal needs some defense.
