George North surprised at entering the Rugby World Cup record books: Wales Rugby

Wales international utility backs player, George North, has expressed his surprise after finding out his name has been entered into the Rugby World Cup record books. He made the comments while talking to reporters on Monday, September 26.
North has officially became the youngest player to score a touchdown in the history of the Rugby World Cup. He earned this achievement in Wales' last encounter against Namibia. The Welsh delivered a thumping 81–7 defeat to the Namibians on Monday, September
26 at Stadium Taranaki.
The 19-year-old North scored two tries outside of the 12 tries the Wales side scored against Namibia. North took the field during the second-half of the game and scored two tries. His 60th minute try, made him the youngest player to score a try
in the Rugby World Cup tournament, at the age of the 19 years and 166 days.
North overtook the record form the former Australian international player Joe Roff, who made this record during the 1995 Rugby World Cup, which was held in South Africa. North said, “I am quite shocked. It is awesome, a giant honour. If I can do that for
my country (win 86 caps), I will retire a happy man.”
North has expressed his confidence with his performance in the game. He termed his physicality and attacking skills as the main skill in his playing arsenal. He further added, “It is always good to go on and get a couple of tries, and at the end of the day,
it was a decent win. It showed we are clinical.”
His strong performance in the match has earned him a nod from the Wales head coach, Warren Gatland, for a place in the Wales match-day squad for their knockout stage games. Gatland has hinted at a new combination of North and Shane Williams at the winger
positions during the last pool match of the tournament against Fiji.
Commenting on his prospect of playing with Shane Williams, North said, “Shane is one of my heroes, it’s quite weird playing in the same team as him now and training with him. There is nothing I can give to him to improve his game, but he has plenty to give
to me.”
