George Robson extends his stay with Harlequins until end of 2014/15 season – Rugby News
Twickenham Stoop based English professional Rugby Union side, Harlequins, has announced the extension in stay of their talented and experienced second row forwards player, George Robson. Officials
at the club have confirmed an inking of a new deal with Robson in a statement released on their website on Thursday, October 27.
The new deal will allow Robson to stay at the Stoop until the end of the 2014/15 season. Quins compete in the Aviva Premiership championship and in the European competitions like Anglo Welsh
Cup and Heineken Cup.
Harlequins Director of Rugby, Conor O'Shea, has expressed his delight on retaining the services of the Robson with the club. He has termed Robson as one of most competitive players he has seen
in his life. He said, “We are delighted he has committed to us for the best years of his rugby career and look forward to helping him achieve his goals.”
O’Shea also praised Robson’s hard work and personality attributes.
The 25-year-old Robson has expressed his excitement on signing his new deal with the Quins. He said, “I want to continue being part of a successful team, in a positive environment, whilst striving
to fulfill my own international aspirations.”
Robson has expressed his satisfaction with the club’s future. He added, “I see us being a dominant side over the next few years and that's something I want to be a part of. I love playing rugby
for this club and I'm always proud to pull on the Harlequins jersey.”
Robson is a Bromsgrove School product and started his rugby career with Old Swinford Hospital. He is a Harlequins academy product and joined the Club in 2006. The player has so far has made 99
appearances for the Quins in both domestic and European competitions since his debut against the Coventry in February 2006.
Robson has already represented England at Under-16s and Under-18s level. Robson will make his 100th appearance for the club in their upcoming encounter against Exeter Chiefs. Commenting
on reaching the milestone with the club, he said, “Having supported Harlequins as a kid, it's going to be a massive honour for me to make my 100th appearance for the club at the Stoop this Saturday.”
