  1. If Sakuraba were in his prime, I would say Saku. Right now, Sakuraba has been in too many wars and has taken way too much abuse in his career.

Saku is a middleweight, and after brutal beatdowns by Crocop and Wanderlei, I wish he would retire.

On the ground, Sakuraba would win. He's an innovator and has come up with many new moves like the cartwheel guard pass, suicide guard pass, mongolian chop, etc.

He does very unorthodox things in the ring, and surprises his opponents.

On the other hand, Saku is pretty weak in my opinion compared to other middleweights. Also, Saku has a hard time fighting strikers who have a good ground game.

Today, GSP would beat Saku. In Saku's prime, he would've edged out GSP.

  2. GSP would win the Gracie Hunter (Sakuraba). is that fight really going to happen? i thought sakuraba was a light heavy wight?

  3. Sakuraba in his prime would beat GSP I think. BUT I think the fight depends on many things. Where the fight takes place, Saku was used to pride rules where you could kick a downed opponant and GSP is used to the Cage in the UFC. Right now I would go with GSP because he is way younger and at the peak of his game. But if the fight was at Saku's prime I would go with Saku.
