Georges St-Pierre admits he needs more wins in his career – UFC News
Former welterweight titlist Matt Hughes recently asserted that Georges St-Pierre, the current welterweight titlist and probably the best in the business, needs more wins in order to cement his legacy as the best mixed martial artist out there. For some reason,
GSP admits the fact that not only does he need more wins but he needs more knockouts as well in his portfolio.
“I agree with the criticism. I want to do better. I want to give more entertainment to the fans. Ive been training to jump more on opportunities that are open to me. I'm still gonna fight my fight, but I'm going to be more opportunistic,” said Georges St-Pierre
who is preparing for his comeback bout against interim champion Carlos Condit.
GSP admits that unlike Matt Hughes, he is not a knockout specialists and that fans want more entertainment from him. GSP stands with 18 fights in his portfolio with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Unfortunately, he has only knocked out his opponents
9 times. In other words, GSP stands with a 50% knockout ratio, which is excellent in its entirety but not for fans who want more entertainment.
Georges St-Pierre will be making his return after almost 19 months. Due to certain recurring injuries, he was forced to stay out of the ring for such a long tenure. For now, he is hoping to score a win over Carlos Condit in order to prove his dominance in
the cage once again. If successful, GSP has a super-fight against middleweight champion Anderson Silva waiting for him.
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship has already regarded GSP and Silva as the two best ever mixed martial artists of all time. According to White, if GSP is able to defeat Condit, he will surely move towards a fight against Silva.
On the other hand, Brazilian champion Silva is in no mood to settle for another opponent besides GSP. Silva has asserted that he would fight GSP regardless whether the latter wins or loses against Condit.
Since he is making his comeback after a long time, fans are hoping for GSP to change his game and add more knockouts to his bag.
