Georges St-Pierre shrugs off rumours of asking $50 to fight Anderson Silva – UFC News
Yesterday, it was reported that welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has asked for a paycheck of $50 million in order to go head to head with middleweight champion Anderson Silva. During a recent episode of The MMA Beat, Mike Straka asserted that he has
been informed by a source close to GSP that the French-Canadian fighter is looking for a pacycheck of $50 million in order to go head to head against Anderson Silva.
GSP, who recently revealed that he wants to take his own sweet time to decide whether he wants to fight Silva or not, has declined the rumour, calling it false.
“I have not been informed about this,” said GSP.
“I have not been informed of this, it is not true. Nobody told me about it and I am in France now, I have not seen the article and I will not comment,” he added.
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White is trying his level best to introduce super-fights in the world of mma, starting with a fight between Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva. Silva, who is usually pretty finicky about his opponents,
is eyeing GSP for a match. Unfortunately, the latter is not sure as to whether he wants to fight Silva or not.
In his last interview, GSP spoke of fighting Silva, saying that he needs to think about it. According to GSP, a win over Silva would take him to the end of the tunnel, where he will not have anything else left to fight with. GSP believes he will defeat Silva
but there will not be much left to accomplish after that.
On the other hand, analysts are of the view that GSP is no match for the Spider. A loss by Silva would mean an all-time career low for GSP, probably which is one of the major reasons as to why he is not going against Silva.
However, considering the fact that fans are desperate to see both heroes clash, it seems like Dana White would do his best to make it up to GSP to make sure the fight happens.
