Another war!! My question is as stated. Do, you think that the U.S. will get involved? Im curious if we will go police the world. Stick our nose where it doesnt belong. I understand that Georgia has 2000 troops with us in Iraq, and that they are 3rd behind U.S. and Britan. Still though, they started this war! Not us. Do you think that we will and that we should get involved?

  1. Unfortunately for Georgia; Russia isn't like Serbia. We can't just go into the region, bomb the h**l out of Russian forces, and expect the two sides to sign a ceasefire. If we do that, you'll be d**n sure World War III is right around the corner.

But we can't just abandon our allies, especially ones like Georgia who are falling victim to the likes of Russia (name me one other country OTHER than Russia that agrees to let countries declare independence just to invade them a few years later under the pretext of "peacekeeping").

We should do what we did in Afghanistan back in the '79-'89 War over there, secretly funnel weapons, supplies, and money to Georgian paramilitary groups and also aid the Georgian military as much as possible without getting directly involved.

  2. I believe that Russia did begin this conflict.

As for our involvement, we have listed Georgia as an ally and thus we need to support them as much as is possible and needed. That does not mean that we need to send OUR troops, but it does mean that we should allow those 2000 Georgian troops to return home and defend their country. Further, I do not believe that the Russians really want a major conflict. They do not have the military needed to defend all of Russian territory. Believe me when I say that if the Chinese had the opportunity to take lands from Russia, they would do so in a heartbeat. Russia cannot take that chance.

EDIT for Mr. Doodle, excuse me but it was the United Nations that handled Iraq and they used the United States to enforce their resolutions. And as for Mr. Bush needing authorization from Pelosi or Reid, I think you need to study civics a little better.

  3. I hope not. The Military is made for dishing out a whipping to people that pose a threat to us, and Georgia did start this. We are not the World Police.

  4. if there's no oil involved, you can count us out.....

  5. Russia started it cause there pissed that there losing there territories.

    Not georgia.

  6. I believe that you are asking the wrong people this question, unless Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi visit this web site.   They are probably the only people in america that could answer.    Since Bush is up against the fence over Iraq what ever he would suggest about America's involvement in this conflict would not be passed.    My opinion is that America needs to stay out of this and give it to the United Nations were things like this should be resolved.  mr doodles
