Question:

Georgia CSE child support enforcement?

Can someone tell me how CSE works in Georgia? If a single mother went to CSE for assistance to get child support for 1 child that she has with her ex boyfriend how long of a process is it? Does this happen quickly or could it take MONTHS before the mother receives her payments? Does CSE help her get a court order then garnish the father's wages? If he moved and lives a few counties away which CSE office would help her - CSE in her county or his county? I read CSE deducts 17-23% of the non-custodial parent's wages for 1 child in GA - does anyone know from personal experience if this percentage is correct or may be higher. Not sure how accurate the info on the website is. Thanks. Hoping someone has 1st hand experience with this or works in this field.

  1. Obtain the paperwork from your county CSE office and complete it. They will contact the alleged father and schedule blood test etc.  After that is completed, they will request documentation regarding income from both parents and scheule a hearing.
