Georgia and russia.. whats that all about?

i just wanted to know exactly whats going on and what caused this? is this "georgia" atlanta georgia? ive been wondering this for a few weeks now lol.

No it isn't Georgia in the US! DU DUH DUUUUH! An they used to control the COUNTRY, and they want it back because it is rich with OIL! I'm 13 and I know that!

Here are two links, each with a different view.  Basically, it appears that Georgia attacked people in an area of its own country who were causing big problems to Georgia, most of whom were actually Russians living in Georgia.  Russia retaliated by attacking Georgia.  There are other issues involved, such as history of problems between them, access to the Sea and resources, of course, it is complicated and you could spend alot of time researching who is right and wrong, they both have their points.  But I ask ... how would we feel if any other country attacked a part of America, for any reason... ?  ...

We must be careful about involving ourselves in anyone else's conflict, because really, maybe it's none of our business as we aren't directly involved, but at some point it may affect us, and that is the part that scares us into action.  We must tread carefully because, as the writer says in the last line of one of the links above... " “It all ended for us”, said a Georgian war refugee leaving behind his destroyed home in South Ossetia. For the rest of the world though it is all just beginning, once again."  

Really in the end, Peace is the only answer, thing is, both sides have to want it.
