  1. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Assistant Secretary of Treasury for the Reagan Administration claims that the Georgian president is a US controlled puppet...the question is, why is Cheney poking the sleeping bear?

  2. Saakashvili need an advertise to the conflict. That is why he attacked Osetia during that day!

  3. Yesterday the first logical explanation of an event has sounded.

    1. Georgia wishes to enter NATO.

    2. In NATO do not accept the country with territorial problems.

    Therefore...

    3. To enter NATO it is necessary to solve a problem with Ossetia

    4. At any outcome of events Georgia remains in benefit

    BECAUSE....

    a) If Russian have not interfered, Georgia would level territory of Ossetia with the ground. The problem is solved. The survived inhabitants search for a refuge in other countries.

    b) If Russian have interfered, Georgia stops war. Also speaks representatives of NATO that tried to solve the conflict, but malicious Russia it has prevented.

    5. The attack in day of Olympiad will give the conflict additional advertising

    Unfortunately it's a pure policy

  4. At times like this ignorance is high, and education upon facts is low. Please people, learn something. Russia isn't "invading" anything, they're defending south ossetian for the sake that 1. There's a lot of Russian Civilians there, 2. There's a lot of innocent people there. 3. As Medvedev and the G8, U.N., and OSCE agreed, it's considered diplomatic aide and helping of the innocent. However you can criticize against Russia for having attacked some civilian areas in Georgia, but it's in acts of defense rather than offense. The majority of soldiers there are U.N. Russian peacekeepers.

Moreover, Georgia hasn't been a "good boy" either. After agreeing to a ceasefire woth Russia and South Ossetia, on 7 August Georgia still launched a surprise military operation to take the town of Tskhinvali, the capital of the unrecognised Republic of South Ossetia (a breakaway region of Georgia). Not to mention that peacekeepers and the Red Cross are trying to evacuate civilians and wounded from the hospitals and living area's to avoid casualities to North Ossetia, and Georgia agreed to cease fire again, however they still continue and they have killed many innocent and destroyed at least a couple hospitals themselves through continued artillery and air strikes which they agreed to stop from both cease fires they "lied" to. Hence, it's also quite hard for Russia to cease fire causing innocent casualties in Georgia as well trying to take out military targets. Which is why now more diplomatic aide is being requested by the G8, OSCE, and U.N. for not only reassurance to cease fire and come to peace, but also to remove the innocent civilians from both sides as things are getting worse. All in all Georgia needs to give up South Ossetia and the innocent living there as they break off, it's just like the Kosovo conflict.

  5. if i'm right isn't that still part of georgia? did the un ever recognize the fact ossetia wanted independence? i don't think so.this sounds like a civil war where russia had no business butting in.
