People on here are mad that Georgia went into South Ossetia. Why are they mad they tried to retain their own territory? If Texas wanted to join Mexico and a lot of Mexicans lived there does that mean we have to let them join Mexico? What was the problem with Georgia doing this? I know Russia says that Georgia was killing Russian citizens in Georgia but how reliable is Russia? They don't exactly have a good history of being reliable. ie Helping Iran, Putting Putin's opponents in jail during election, poisoning Russian Spy... etc. What do you think?

  1. The thugs from Russia want control of the oil pipeline that runs through Ossetia. Either that or to destroy the pipeline.

  2. The South Ossetians declared independence from Georgia in 1991, and there was a similiar war to what is happening today.

There is a seperatist movement in South Ossetia that wants to break away from Georgie, these seperatists are supported by the Russians and were granted Russian citizenship

When the Georgian military attacked south ossetia to make sure they don't break off, they killed Russian civilians

Russia saw this as an act of war for killing their civilians, and took their chance to put Georgia back in their place.

South Ossetians WANT to be part of Russia and try to break off Georgia. Georgia refuses to let them break off and has been ethnically cleansing and murdering civilians that oppose their government for the last few years

somehow, the media made it look like the Georgians are the innocent good hearted ones getting attacked by the big bad Russians.

  3. Well you don't think the Georgians just walked in and started handing out flowers do you?

You can cry about their "right" to do it all you want.  The fact is, they handed Russia an excuse to retaliate.  And Russia did.

Perhaps the Georgians were counting on their ally Uncle Sam to pull their fat out of the fire in the event.

We wouldn't let a real important ally like Georgia go down in flames just to avoid a fight with Russia, right? OOPS.

Sure hope it doesn't ruin your whole day.

If it really, really bothers you I sure hope you can find the time to volunteer to be in the first wave so you can show us exactly what you think ought to be done about it.

  4. When you entered your own territory, you do not kill all peace citizens you found on this territory.

  5. Read the first post.

South Ossetia fought Georgia in the early 1990s.  It basically one.  As a result, Georgia and South Ossetia signed a peace treaty. This treaty granted South Ossetia autonomy and its own government and stated Georgia must leave.

15 years later Georgia violates the treaty.

Russia did exactly what it should have.
