Georgia is not the "bad guy"!!!

For those who consider Georgia the "bad guy": now that Georgian troops have backed down why is Russia still bombing us??? At the moment peaceful population is being terrorized in Gori causing mass destruction to the city, which was already destructed from multiple air attacks recently!!!!

1500 people was killed by georgian soldiers. There a lot of old man and children. Georgian do STOP bomb our houses we want to live in peace.

It is a show of muscle by Russia.They are showing the world that they are tired of being told what to do.I am sorry for your losses but your President is the one who brought this on his people. We have the same problem with this complete idiot we have, Bush is a war criminal, coward, but his time will come when Russia deals him a blow too.In other words your President should be the one to blame, Russia and Putin are merely protecting his people, and that is the humane thing to do, he is also showing that your President should not do it again.

I was following the news even since before the war in Georgia broke out. But I am puzzled with contradictions in the president of Georgia's statements. On the one hand, he gave statements saying that he proposed a cease-fire to the Russians. Then moments later, he announces to the parliament that "We are now in a state of war, so be prepared for a long battle". Then later, he declared Martial Law, banning people from grouping together to protest in the streets.

Then again on the next day, he commanded his troops to "retreat and re-group" then made an announcement on TV that Georgian troops are already withdrawing from Oseta, where much of the fighting took place. What does he exactly mean by "retreat and re-group"?. To the Russians, such ambiguous statement is understood as an order to the Georgian forces for a strategic withrawal, then re-grouping with the intention to attack another day. This is the very reason why the Russians continued with their bombardment.

Why does the president of Georgia say one thing to the public, but says another thing to the military?. I hate to say this but for me, he appear to be not sincere in his statements.

Some people will consider Georgia the "bad guy" for no other reason than that they are an ally to the USA.

Why Russia is still bombing, I can not answer, other than maybe they are trying to send a message to the USA, like they won't be willing to back down.

Sorry, but I don't see any "good guys" involved.

The Georgians attacked one of their own administrative units for asserting their own right of self determination, just as the Georgians have asserted theirs against the Russians.

As for the U.S. it is well documented what the US did the last time several of its administrative units asserted their right to self determination.
