Georgia started the conflict!

Bush is supporting Georgia!

Joe Mestas, American citizen living in South Ossetia, who witnessed everything that happening in the region, talked to RT and blamed U.S. and Georgian leaders for the outbreak of violence.

Who agrees with me?!

  1. The world's agree with you

  2. Yes, Georgia "started it" if you want to use that child-like euphemism, and we support Georgia because they are an ally of ours.  It's far more complicated than a couple of third graders fighting on the playground.

  3. is it complicated enough to try and support the president who gave orders to attack villages which leaded to death of 2000 civillians?

    dont b tht narrowminded :)

  4. Nobody says they didn't start it.  They're trying to bring S. Ossetia back into their fold, something they've wanted to do since the early 90's after the Soviet Union broke up.  They violated that latest truce by attempting to take it back by force this past Friday.

Russia's peacekeeping force has been there since at least the mid-90's.  Georgia's timing was calculated....one being the world's focus on the Olympics and the fact that Pres. Bush will soon be gone.  It's common knowledge that the US backs Georgia and would welcome them into the NATO.

Georgia will get the same support the Czechs and Hungarians got in the 50s and 60s when they too were calling for our support..  We gave them rhetorical support and calls for UN sanctions, then called it a day.

  5. This war has begun since Saakashvili has been put on a post of the Georgian´s president. Bush delivered the weapon to them for the money of American people.

  6. yes

  7. I'm just glad Russia Today continues in the fine tradition of being the Kremlin's mouthpiece.

I miss the old shortwave news reports about the evil capitalists.  It was as good as any late-night television comedy monologue.

Those weapons are European, the only US involvement was some military training, which the US has done all over the world.  It hasn't made the Filipinos start invading other countries.

  8. Georgia sent their army into South Ossetia to put down violence.

As they don't recognize South Ossetia they are in their rights to handle an internal situation.

Russia on the other hand recognize South Ossetia as it has a large Russian population.

Georgia wants to join NATO so that doesn't go down well in Moscow.

  9. I think we in the "west" don't understand the situation. It's natural for us to see Russia as the aggresor but I'm sure it's far more complicated than that as both sides have claimed attacks against civilians. USA will not deploy troops for sure, despite Georgia promoting themselves as big US allies by sending troops to Iraq. War with Russia would be a geopolitical and economic disaster for the world no matter who won. Russia will not go as far as taking over Georgia but will be looking for South Ossetia to merge with Russia by their own means. I think Russia have been heavy handed here but are playing a clever game. I think Georgia has made a gamble and lost. Hopefully we will see peace after this...please.
