Georgia vs Russia can it lead to world war 3

I think this might lead to world war 3. I Georgia joins nato then all the nato nations will have to go against Russia and if that happens China and maybe iran will join in - Your thoughts

russia has been itching for a fight ever since Putey Putin stepped into office...he wanted to go to war with the US but since we didnt comply, he decided to pick on a country and see if he can thusly lure us into war.

Both World War 1 and 2 were started by one country invading another one, so this is a definate possiblity.

Well, if the US jumps in, as Georgia is a valued alli, then we have trouble with Russia, which means more trouble with China and Iran as well.  That would unleash the whole Middle East into as well, so... Potential time bomb, but not just yet.

I think we're heading for something. This is very discerning to me. I believe there are some big shifts going on right now. I don't want to sound preachy but the bible describes in the ends days as "the king of the north and the king of the south will war". ? It isn't just because of this, I have felt this way  since invading Iraq.

no because both of those countries are very poor and under equiped and with out man much man power. i doubt that it will be that big of a deal.

Lets see some kick-*** man. I don't want the U.S to intervene nor do I want the world to get involved because Russia is getting noisy lately. Georgia rock on Russia *****.

The only way that this would turn into WW3 (or WW4 in my opinion) is if the U.S.A. or any other nation intervenes. The world has to let somethings go and i don't see why we cant just mind our own business and for once think of the future. and as for NATO, they should also stay off it and for once, let something resolve itself. hopefully Georgia will be smart enough to surrender before this gets out of hand

If the US intervenes militarily, it can.

I'd be like if Russia sent in troops to protect the L.A. Rodney King rioters.  How do you think the US would have reacted to THAT?  It's not the best analogy, but that's how it would feel to the Russian government.

If the US intervened, I think the conflict would eventually escalate into a strategic nuclear exchange (WWIII) after many Russian and American soldiers die fighting each other.  Russia still has 10,000+ nuclear weapons aimed at the US.  They do not have the ability to project conventional power, so a strategic nuclear response will be one of their few options.

That would suck, bad.  Start stockpiling penicillin, water and ammo, people!
