Georgia vs. Russia? question help

Why is this Happening?

Earlier I heard that United States will not be helping Georgia because we are to busy In Iraq.

But as far as I know, It would be brilliant If we can help. But at the same time It would kinda drive us in to a recession officially and it would probably be alonger time before we get back to normal plus I wouldnt wanna even imagine the expierience of some country like russia dropping bombs in the United States. That would not be a beautiful sight Just imagine 10x's what you seen for 9/11 including our neighborhoods work areas a total amount of states under attack in the U.S aint gonna be pretty!!!!

SO WHY IS THIS HAPPENING???

By the way, US special forces are advising Georgian military and we have hundreds of troops in Georgia (before the 8th)

theres nothing to gain by risking a world wide conflict of mutualy assured destruction (MAD)  russia wont look too tuff if they get vapourized along with the rest of the world theyll just look stupid to the aliens that take over our planet after they cleaned up the radiation

The world's best army,however,is the Chinese(1.4 million).

The Chinese also have the biggest airforce,Japan has the biggest navy.

China is on a par with the U.S with Nukes.

The short answer - Russia is trying to block Georgia from having another oil pipeline to Europe - ie Russia wants to control Europe's energy.  This is very bad news for Europe and democracies world-wide

We won't attack Russia because of Georgia since it could bring on a world war. Russia has nukes. Diplomacy is all we have in this situation.

Iraq has nothing to do with it and anyone who says it does has not been well versed in global politics.

you know, if you will help Georgia you will be right, and if you won't then that means you are thankless, because 2000 georgian troops are helping georgia in iraq! you still think that US must not help Georgia?

Ada, the japanese dont have a navy.... and the chinese dont have the biggest airforce, the US does and we also have the biggest navy. numbers doesnt mean anything if they have poor training and equipment. Russia has been looking for a reason to fight georgia for a long time. they dont want them joining NATO or having another oil pipeline that goes to europe. russia wants to control their oil. both say the other violated a cease fire so its hard to tell who sparked it. our economy would be really bad if we went to war with russia not to mention theyd be a lot of deaths and possibly (but probly not) a draft. russia also has alot of nukes (a little more than the US) and russia has a very bad temper and is willing to use them so we wont get in conflict with them
