Georgian Girls’ Youth Team to compete in Turkey – Volleyball news
The Georgian Volleyball Federation has recently assembled girls’ youth national team. Most of the players in the team were born in 1997 and 1998.
The young crop of Georgian players is ready to serve and bring honour for country. They have big plans to take part in the international events and catch the spotlight. The President of Georgian Volleyball Federation, Levan Akhvlediani has played an instrumental
role in gathering a group of best volleyball players for the national squad.
The team has yet to make the debut but they have already started preparations to give out a good performance. The Georgian Team is set to make their first international appearance in Turkey, later this month. The Turkish city Ankara will host an international
youth tournament, which will be attended by teams from Finland, Bulgaria, Holland, Korea, Greece, Germany, hosts Turkey, China, Japan, Albania and the United States.
This international volleyball campaign will solely serve the purpose of improving the performance of teams. The Georgian Girls will be on board to meet the challenge. They will come across some of the best teams in the world and it will help them to gain
confidence and experience.
Levan Akhvlediani expressed his views about the upcoming debut in Turkey.
He stated, “This tournament will turn into the first international experience for our girls; the team will spend some time together before the start of the competition and I hope they will be well prepared for this debut. Our girls will play a good set of
matches which is extremely important for a newly formed team.”
The ultimate target of Georgian team is to get well prepared for the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which will be held in Georgia in 2015. The city of Tbilisi in Georgia will host the mega Olympic event. Right now, the Georgian Volleyball Federation
is focused to arrange more and more interaction for the young team. The players need to get the knack of their trait and to improve on their volleyball skills.
The similar thoughts were shared by the President of Georgian Volleyball Federation. He commented, “Our goal is to organize as many international matches as possible so that our young girls can gain the valuable experience they need for the EYOF.”
