  1. It's Russia's "payback" because Georgia has been bombing civilians.

Although it may seem right to them it'll just keep escalating if they keep getting back at each other.

My answer doesn't sound right (I'm not good with words) so use Janets as an example of what I was trying to make mine.

  2. i think the russians want to take over georgia

  3. I don't think Russia is planning on occupying Georgia, but they want to make sure that Georgia is in no position to ever threaten S. Ossetia or Abkhazia again.

  4. It means that Georgia should not have attacked Ossetia in the first place.  Russia is teaching them a lesson and will probably claim the province as a result.  It doesn't matter that Bush & Cheney are talking tough to and about Russia.  Russian leaders know that USA & NATO forces will not intervene.

Edit:  This is the first that I have read that Ossetians started firing @ Georgian villages - really!  How do you know that?

  5. Russia tries to put Georgia under pressure as much as possible.

Sorry, but you can ask President Saakashvili why he ordered to attack Russian peacekeeping army and give them the opportunity to attack Georgia? Was it needed? I can't understand.
