Georginio Wijnaldum, Kevin Strootman and Dries Mertens to PSV Eindhoven – Dutch Eredivisie news

The Boeren had been heavily linked with the Utreg duo for a long time, as the Utreg management rejected their first two offers. However, PSV never gave up on luring the two midfielders to Philips Stadion and have finally succeeded in acquiring the services
of the Utreg duo.
PSV reportedly wanted Mertens to fill in the shoes of Balazs Dzsudzsak, who joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Anzhi-Makhachkala-c39068 earlier this month. The Belgian International has been a part of the Utreg eleven since his arrival at Stadion Galgenwaard in the 2009/10 season.
The Boeren were looking to sign a defensive midfielder to add steel to their midfield, and Strootman, who is regarded as one of the best young defensive midfielders in the Dutch top tier, was identified as the ideal candidate.
Furthermore, PSV have also successfully signed Wijnaldum from Feyenoord. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has remained a target for top Eredivisie clubs, but preferred to pen down a contract with the Eindhoven giants.
The promising youngster is a product of the Rotterdam giants’ youth academy and started his professional career at De Kuip Stadion in the 2007/08 season. The highly-rated midfielder scored 22 goals in 109 appearances for De Stadionclub.
PSV have reportedly acquired the services of the aforementioned trio for 18 million Euros; 13 million Euros were paid for the FC Utrecht duo, while 5 million Euros were splashed on De Stadionclub starlet.
With the acquisition of these three, the Boeren have certainly strengthened their midfield for the upcoming season and their Eredivisie title aspirations for the 2011/12 season have definitely been boosted.
