  1. Geraldton is about the size of Lismore in north NSW.  It has about 30,000 people living there.  It is a favourite place for people from Perth to retire to.  It is too far south to cop any cyclones from the Northwest of the State.  The weather is always breezy and sunny (ie very nice).  My parents wanted to build their dream house there once.    Its no different to any other regional city in Australia.   West Australia has quite a few Asian immigrants, you likely won't have any issues there.   Not sure about schooling.  The state government lists it as a City.  It will have schools that with that level of support.  Note that WA doesn't have a selective school system, and public schools are all co-educational.  No boys or girls schools, unless it is in the private system.

  2. I'd say anywhere out of sydney is heaven

get out of all the exspensive busyness or even try melbourne

  3. Geraldton is a large country town.  I used to go there a few times a year as I lived south of it .   I have always liked Geraldton, friendly people.  The town offers everything. You should do well. The beaches are nice, but it does get windy. There are many Asians in Australia, all welcome. Good luck.

  4. It's a lot smaller than Sydney, and has a number of suburbs - some good - some bad. And a satellite town of Greenough. Iron Ore is about to be shipped through the port and this will create jobs and population growth in the next decade, which will mean greater consumer demand.

Geraldton has a lot of racial, ethnic mixes. Probably the single biggest group after Anglo Saxons, are aboriginals.

  5. Hi

We had thought about moving there.  It's a nice climate and we know people who live there who told us the people were really friendly, and there was lots to do.

We decided against it when we heard how windy it was though, due to allergies our kids have.
