Gerard Houllier looks Djibril Cisse and Fernando Gago as new signings in January transfer window

Aston Villa's new manager, Gerard Houllier, has claimed that he has two players in mind, which can turn Aston Villa's season around. The two players that are in the manager’s mind are Djibril Cisse and Fernando Gago. The manager has admitted that he wishes
for the swoop to occur in this January’s transfer window.
Houllier is apparently desperate, to bring about some change to the Aston Villa side and will be looking to add some reinforcements to the side in the midfield and up front. Both the players that manager wishes to sign have fallen out of favour at their
current clubs and would, easily be persuadable.
According to the Sunday People, “Houllier is desperate to add more steel to the spine of his team and sees £6million-rated Panathinaikos striker Cisse and Real Madrid defensive midfielder Gago as the players to do just that.
While Houllier will receive encouragement from the camps of Cisse, above, and loan target Gago, he could miss out on the 19-year-old Atletico Madrid keeper David De Gea, who is also a target for Manchester United.”
Houllier will apparently be handed a handsome transfer budget in January, with which he can do as he pleases. The manager seems to have already made up his mind in advance and knows just who to bring to the club.
He wishes to sign Cisse who is a former Liverpool player; the Frenchman is hoping the player can re gain the form that saw him earn a move to the club in the past. However his career has been flawed with injuries to date and if that trend continues then,
Cisse might not be able to provide the impact to the side that Houllier is hoping for.
Gago on the other hand, has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu. The player has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of players like, Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedirra. Gago is more then a decent player and would sit well in the Villa midfield. That
is if the manager can capture the player.
Both the players are estimated to cost the club, around twenty two million pounds, which seems to have been made available to the manager and the team ever since they sold, James Milner to Manchester City.
Houllier has wasted no time in stamping his authority on the Villa side ever since his arrival earlier this month. He has already made it clear, as to how he wants the team to play and who he wants to see stay at the club and who he wants out of the club.
He is also looking to win the trust of the fans, by pursuing Ashley Young to stay at the club. If he manages to do just that, then that could be the first step in a long illustrious career for the manager at the Villa Park.
