The Spanish defender spoke about his compatriot, David Villa, and mentioned how the prolific goal scorer is close to making a return from his injury.
Barcelona’s season has been marred with a lot of injuries and that is one of the reasons why they had a slump in their form and they couldn’t win a lot of silverware.
This season, several players got injured from time to time; but that is something that happens in all the big clubs. However, what Barcelona had to go through were long-term injuries which were suffered by Eric Abidal, David Villa and Ibrahim Afellay.
With Abidal gone, it was hard for Barcelona to cope up in the left-back position. David Villa was the main creator on the left-wing and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ibrahim-Afellay-c16547 was the perfect off-the-bench player, but he too injured
himself during the season.
Since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 is the most-awaited injured player out of them all, Gerard Pique recently told the press how the Spanish goal scoring machine is close to making a return.
Not only Barcelona, but the Spanish national team is awaiting for Villa to make his return and his fellow star player, Gerard Pique believes that Villa can make his return as soon as this coming Friday, against Athletic Bilbao, in the Copa del Rey final.
While speaking to the press, Pique said:
“I see that he’s doing well. He has had a major injury, but is eager and every day is like a final for him. I can see him making the Copa final.”
The game against Bilbao on 25th of May will be against Bilbao and it will be Josep Guardiola’s last game as head coach of the Catalan giants.
While speaking about the departure of Josep Guardiola, Pique said:
“His departure will be traumatic for me. “I feel like I’m a better player because of him and the whole team has learned a lot from him.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique also took out time to speak about Barcelona’s chances of winning the Spanish Cup. The Catalan defender said:
“I see no favourite. It is a 50-50 game. So, we will fight hard to take the title.”
This game against Bilbao is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s only chance of winning a title that is actually worth something.
