The Spanish Champions, Barcelona, lost their weekend fixture to Getafe. The loss came with quite a shock as the Catalans were already three points behind their arch rival, Real Madrid, and they needed a win in order to cut the gap.

The defeat against Getafe is Barcelona’s first ever defeat in this season. The Spanish Champions have drawn a game but this was the first time that they couldn’t manage to secure even a single point. Now with Barcelona six points behind Madrid, they will
definitely take some time in order to catch up.
While talking about his confidence in his team, he said:
"I’m convinced that the team will give everything they've got to be fighting for the title at the end of the season.”
He asked the fans to trust the team and he backed his argument by stating that there are still a lot of points up for grabs in the Spanish La Liga.
While comparing Real Madrid’s performance with Barcelona, Pique was quoted saying:
"The league standings show that [Real] Madrid are doing things a bit better this season and we have to turn this situation around. We are Barca and we'll move forward."
Pique admitted that the team was disappointed after the loss. He said:

Barcelona will now be facing Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday. It is going to be the best chance for Barcelona to pick themselves back up and win a relatively easier game in order to boost their confidence.
