  1. this could be normal.. you should just keep hm in his cage and talk to him softly for him to get use to his new surroundings... stroke him gently. if he doesnt seem to getbetterin a day or 2 take him back to the store to get him checked or if it seems serious take him to the vet.. good luck

  2. the poor little gerbil is probally just a little nervous. What i would do is leave it in his cage for a little  and check later and play with him later

  3. If you just got it today its probably just stressed out.  give it a few hours to settle down before you get worried.  If it still is acting like that in a day or two i would call the petshop you got him at and see if that usually happens to the gerbils they sell.

  4. hey its ok this is normal!! it happened to me too. I know its REALLY tempting to play with it the 1st day but you really shouldnt.. its all new for the lil guy and he probably just wants to take it easy and get used to its surroundings! some hammys do it some dont.. try to pick it up in 2 days or 1. if hes still not very fun to play with then hes probably just always like that! i hope this helped and if not just e-mail me at

  5. It could be ill, but I'd think the new surroundings is just stressful. Although it's very tempting to start playing with your gerbils right away, it's best to give them a day to get used to their new home. They were just taken away from everything they knew and put into a totally new place. Leave them alone for today and start handling them tomorrow. It'll give them a chance to calm down and your brother's gerbil may calm down a bit.

  6. if you have been take from every thing you have know and pick up you would be sad to just give them some space
