  1. It is possible, though in my experience gerbils can be a little psycho.  My gerbil would climb into my hand ALMOST every time I put it in there, I just gave him his favorite treat every time he did it, and eventually he learned thats what I wanted from him. He naver came when i called his name, but if I told him I had popcorn he'd come a running.( Unsalted, unbuttered, popcorn that is)  The litter box is a total flop with gerbies, thanks to their never ending need to dig in and destroy every thing you put in there.

  2. well it is possible i guess and it is awesome how you want to learn well lets see to make them come to your hand i would put gerbil food in your hand place the hand in cage lay it flat and let them eat .....#2 if you want it to p**p in the litter box or were ever else you want place his p**p in a certain spot and then he can learn that it is the place to poo my gerbils do the same thing p**p in one spot ...but i don't know if you can train to come when you call

  3. You cannot train a gerbil to come when it's called, but they can however, with a lot of time, recognize their names. Every time you go to the cage, say it's name. When you give it food, treats, etc.

To get a gerbil to climb into your hand will take A LOT of time. Everytime you put your hand in the cage, make sure it always has something for the gerbil in it (like it's water, food, a new toy, a treat, etc.). This will help the gerbil to think of your hand as a good thing. Also when you feed it and leave treats, etc leave your hand in for a little while for him to sniff. Don't be suprised if he nips you once or twice, he is not being aggressive, he just wants to know if you're edible.

You cannot train a gerbil to p**p in a litter box.

One thing you can train a gerbil is to stand on its back legs. It won't remember the command so you will hand to have a treat each time. But once it's used to you and your hand all you have to do is hold its favorite treat up just out of his reach and he should stand for it.

Remember to spend lots of time with your gerbil to get him used to your voice and smell so he loves you.

    Good luck!

  4. well get a clicker and their favorite treats, but remember too make it fun for you and your gerbil too wear your little guy out.
