  1. The easiest and less stressful way of transporting a gerbil from store to your home is to either buy or ask for enough bedding to cover the bottom of the box they will provide for you. Hamsters can be stressed out easily which, to them is extremely devastating. With bedding at the bottom of the box it avoids the hamster slipping and banging ageist the side as well as being forced to be in it's own leavings should it poo or pee.

  2. Well, I've personally haven't see any gerbils being sold at PetSmart. I think that they will stock it some time eventually, but i don't count on it. well, at least at the petsmarts in the santa clara county. I think that if they did stock them, they would put it in a card board box. no they wouldn't chew through it. hope that this helps and good luck with your pet gerbils! if you get them.

  3. they give you a carboard box. i used to think that they would chew it too! lol but they dont  some tips are

try to drive slow and smooth so they can become calm also dont be nervou sif they move that much (you probably wont be nervous but i was really nervous!!!! lol) have a good time iwht ur gerbils!!

  4. They give you a cardboard box. When I got my gerbils, I was actually concerned about this. I asked the employee if she could double up the boxes, and she said it's fine. Their boxes have two-layered walls. My gerbils didn't chew through, and it was a 30 minute car ride home. If you're really concerned, you can bring a carrying case, like a critter carrier from the pet store (plastic carrier), but it should be fine.

  5. well they do give you a cardboard box. but i would get an extra to put that box in just in case they decide chewing is a good idea. and if i were you i would take them straight home.

  6. Don't buy from a pet store. They get their animals from breeding mills. They are usually sick and missexed and/or pregnant.

  7. well, they give u a 'critter keeper' cardbaord box w/holes, and id say if its more than 5min home bring something=] lie one of those bring-along mini wire cages =]

  8. No, unless its a long car ride.  The dont chew through it that fast

  9. they will give you a cardboard carrying case to transport your gerbils.  make sure to have their home already set up when you get them to reduce stress.
