Gerbils in iowa city/ cedar rapids area?

I have finally convinced my parents to let me get a gerbil, but now we have a problem. Petland and petco dont carry gerbils. There isnt a petsmart near me, but I have no idea if they even sell gerbils. I know there is a breeder in Grinnell but i cannot go there to get them. Please help me find some gerbils sellers!!!!!!

I believe there is a Petsmart in Ceder Rapids.  It is near the Petco in Ceder Rapids.

Have you tried http://www.petfinder.com or http://www.craigslist.com ? On petfinder, select small & furry in the first box, in "breeds" type in gerbil, put in your zip code, and search away for gerbils up for adoption in your area. The second is an internet classified. You may have luck finding gerbils on there.

Please keep in mind that gerbils are social and should be kept in same s*x pairs. If you want a gerbil, please get either two males or two females. Lone gerbils tend to live shorter, less healthy lives. One gerbil may be more work than two because you have to spend much more time trying to make up for the lack of companionship. Two gerbils can groom each other, play with each other, and sleep together. You simply can't make up for that.

dude do NOT! get a gerbil! they are really bad pets they are too active and bit me and made me bleed o.O get a hamster instead they like to be held eat way more variety of food and as to ur area if they dont sell gerbils just call a breeder or look in the classifies new paper section anyways good luck )p.s. do NOT! get a gerbil lol)
