I have several gerbils that I thought I correctly sexed OVER A YEAR AGO ... today 2/3 of my aquariums proved me wrong and I have 3 pregnant females, 2 of which have given birth...

Gerbils sexual maturity is 3-4 months of age.

Why did they wait so d**n long ?

I don't understand it...

and then for it to be synchronized really freaked me out..

Any ideas ?

  1. Well whats wrong with baby gerbils? I've had gerbils in the past that breeded and then they had like 6 babies. Just let the parents do their thing and don't disturb them. Once the babies mature up a little bit and become children you can bring them to a pet store and they can take care of the children (and you might get some cash back in your wallet).

  2. you are a idiot for asking this question. anyone who knows anything about breeding, knows you shouldn't backyard breed.

    don't do it.

have you heard of population explosion?

and its very cruel to put a male and female together to make one litter then separate them. gerbils create a life bond with their mate.
