  1. sand/dust bath

  2. you can get some chinchilla sand at petco.  don't add any water.  fill up the bowl or dish halfway and leave it in their cage for fifteen minutes.  don't leave it in the cage too long or they will make a mess with it.  you will see them rolling around to clean themselves off.

  3. sand bath

  4. give them a sand bath, gerbils are desert living creatures and never come in contact with a body of water large enough to get their entire bodies wet getting a gerbil wet has health risks sand baths are more natural and safe and should get the job done :) (or you can use an uncented baby wipe they are safe as well)

  5. Small rodents generally don't get baths because they clean themselves, but if your gerbils get really dirty you can get them chinchilla sand (NOT chinchilla dust, this is bad for their lungs). They'll roll around in it and clean off. Or you can wipe them with a warm, damp cloth.

  6. They clean themselves so you don't need to bathe them too often, But I got a spray from the pet store for small animals and all you have to do is spray it on them and let it dry. The petstore also had wipes made for small animals.

  7. DON'T use dust going in there lungs and good sand bath of Chinchilla SAND! put the sand into something and in the cage a go away for a few hour, the gerbil will role in the sand and clean themselves!

Also clean the cage before the sand bath!

O and gerbils can died from cold very easy don't use water!
