Gergo Kis and Krisztian Takacs win vital races in Debrecen: Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011
Gergo Kis, Krisztian Takacs and Esther Buczek impressed the crowd as they won their respective events including Men’s 400m freestyle, Men’s 50m freestyle and Women’s 200m breast-stroke meets at the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011 in Hungary, on June
24.
In the Men’s 400m freestyle race, Gergo Kis took home the golden crown with a sterling time of 3 minutes and 49.98 seconds. Capturing silver in the 400m freestyle was Laszlo Cseh with a time of 3 minutes and 52.28 seconds, while Gregory Gyurta snared bronze
medal in a time of 3 minutes and 54.02 seconds.
Kis also snatched the Men’s 1500m freestyle crown with a victorious time of 15 minutes and 15.82 seconds and improved to 5th place in the international swimming rankings of the current year. Placed second in the 1500m freestyle was Gergely Guyurta
with a time of 15 minutes and 20.08 seconds, whereas, Patrik Rakos rounded out the top three swimmers in a time of 15 minutes and 4.21 seconds.
Earlier, Kis won the Men’s 800m freestyle crown with a triumphant time of 7 minutes and 55.30 seconds. After securing three titles in the Men’s 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle events, Hungarian swimmer, Gergo Kis was extremely delighted and pleased with his
overall performances in the long course races of the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011.
Meanwhile, Krisztian Takacs took home the Men’s 50m freestyle event with a time of 22.43 seconds. Settling second in the respective race was Kozma Domink with a time of 22.49 seconds, while Matthias Keresztes rounded out the top three with a time of 23.71
seconds.
Last, but not the least, the Women’s 200m breast-stroke crown was snagged by Esther Buczek after she touched the finishing wall and ended her swim with a winning time of 2 minutes and 34.27 seconds. Dorothy Biro grabbed silver in the corresponding race with
a time of 2 minutes and 34.78 seconds, while Fanni Ferenczi rounded out the top three swimmers with a time of 2 minutes and 36.55 seconds.
