I'm preparing a paper and need some information on the main ingredients/dishes of the following kinds of foods:

German

English

Foods from Denmark, Netherlands, Northern Europe

French

Spain/Portugal

Details on any or all would be greatly appreciated. Things such as the 5 most common dishes, common ingredients used etc.

  1. Northern Europeans particularly love potatoes and other root vegetables, the Latin countries not so much. The English and Germans and Danes and Dutch eat a lot of fish as well as do the Portuguese. Sausage is common in all of those nations' cuisines; as is pork and beef.

    1: No pun intended but germans often use beer in their food.

    2: Different kinds of sauzages

    3: Semmelknödel (A sort of dumpling)

    English:

    1: Fish and Chips

    2: Baked potatoes

    3: Soups

    Denmark:

    1: A lot of pork and some fish

    2: Rice pudding

    3: Cabbage

    Netherlands:

    1: Soups

    2: Potatoes

    3: French Fries

    French:

    1: Bread (baquettes, croissants)

    2: Seafood

    3: Sauces (often with wine)

    Spain:
