German Bundesliga: TSG Hoffenheim vs. Bayern Munich - Half Time Report

The match started off with both the German teams playing their full sides that were available to them as the match was very important. Bayern Munich didn't have a steady start to the season as they lost the second game away from
their home. Today they had to face Hoffenheim at their home and the points were important because of what they have been doing throughout the start of the season. They need points in case they want to win the German League again as their rivals Wolfsburg were
gaining control.
Bayern Munich were playing their first team with goalkeeper Butt along with Lahm, Van Buyten, Badstuber and Conentno at the back. In the midfield, Van Bommel and Schweinsteiger were featured as Mueller, Kroos and Ribery along with
Klose were helping the team in scoring the goals.
On the other hand, Hoffenheim were playing their first team as well. Starke was the first choice goalkeeper along with Beck, Simunic, Vorsah and Compper at the back. Weis, Luis Gustavo and Sigurdsson featured in the midfield
as Mlapa, Ba and Tagoe were the three strikers for the German side.
The home side took a fine start as Conento lost the ball in the first 38 seconds and as the error was made inside the box, Ibisevic took advantage and scored the goal to put the home side ahead.
Bayern Munich started to hit back but they totally failed to do so, the defensive side of Hoffenheim proved to be worth it and they easily stopped the attack from the German side. Later, Ribery tried to make a run forward but he
was denied as well and he couldn't really do much to help the team score a goal.
Bayern Munich started to take control of the game as they took possession of the ball and passed it around to help the team score some goals. However, the German Bundesliga Champions could not do much to beat the defensive walls
of the home side as they took advantage of the home crowd and home ground and were easily defending the one goal advantage that they had.
The home side weren't dull, they also tried to make good attacks from the right flank as they made a move into the Bayern Munich's danger zone and tried to penetrate the German defence time and time again. They made fabulous tries
from the right flank and crossed the ball in towards the goal scoring striker, Ibisevic; however, he did not really get the ball on target number of times and even though Hoffenheim had a lot of shots on goal, they were still at a single goal advantage.
Right after the half hour mark, Tobias Weis won a yellow card as he made a late challenge to Frank Ribery while he was not even near the ball. After the yellow card, Bayern were at it again as they won the free kick. They took
control of the possession of the ball and they kept on moving the ball around to help the team win the match or at least try to score a single goal to draw the game. However, it was still the home side who were at an advantage as they did not let the German
Champions penetrate their defence easily.
There were rash tackles flying around and with just five minutes remaining in the first half, the German sensation Bastian Shweinsteiger made a rough tackle but still managed to get away from being booked and Hoffeinheim were only
awarded with a free kick. The free kick was taken long but easily defended by Bayern Munich.
The fourth official waved "zero" extra minutes in the first half and no extra time was given to the teams to remain in action as the first half was totally positive towards the home side. It was a big upset for the German champions
as they were a goal down in the first minute of the game. Even though it was a defensive mistake, it was still Bayern Munich who were down in the first half.
However, Munich has come out of such situations at numerous occasions and they can make a way out of it easily if the team keeps on attacking like they were in the first half.
