German Dimitri Sartison undergoes knee surgery for the third time on Monday – Boxing News
Dimitri Sartison, the former WBA World super middleweight champion, is facing the toughest time of his career and will undergo a third consecutive surgery on his knee most probably on the coming Monday.
According to the recent news, Dimitri, 32, is experiencing one of the worst years of his career only because of the ailment in his knee that has persistently hampered the German proud to put forth a performance for which he is well known in the super middleweight
division.
The orthodox pugilist has been in a total 31 bouts and boasts 29 wins with 18 via knockout. The Hamburg proud resides at the third spot in his country’s divisional rankings which proves that he is a high-calibre brawler who has put forth the boxing fanatics
some emphatic performances.
The German proud has been facing problems with his knee since the last one or one and a half year. Dimitri has strived hard to overcome the problem but the injury consistently created difficulties for him so much so that in his recent bout against Karoly
Balzsay, Sartison experienced severe pain and denoted the below par performance, a result of the pain in his right knee.
After the bout, Dimitri went through a careful diagnosis and was advised to undergo surgery for the resolution of the ailment. While sharing his thoughts on the upcoming surgical operation, the gloomy Dimitri commented that he regrets the decision to enter
the ring twice in a championship bout when injured against men like Mikkel Kessler and Karoly Balzsay.
It must be kept in mind that Dimitri has collected both of his career losses from the above two pugilists. Sartison remarked, “I have always lived by the legs, by my mobility. Because of my bad knee it was just not there. In the last round, I simply eased
my concentration. Otherwise it would have been different. But, I don’t blame anyone for this. I decided myself that I would box….twice I’ve boxed for a world championship when not fit, and twice I’ve lost. Against Kessler and Balzsay. This is very bitter.”
At the moment, Dimitri has decided to completely recuperate from the injury so as to make an effective comeback and protect his ailing career. The German proud will most probably remain outside the ring for five to six months.
