German Grand Prix: Team Wise Analysis
The cars roared, engines went thundering as the battle of speed and technology began at Hockenheim on the Sunday's German Formula One Grand Prix. The tale of the twelve rival teams and their twenty four aggressive drivers goes as following:
MCLAREN:
The team that had been leading the charts of the Drivers’ as well as the Constructors’ Championship, packed the race with its drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button at fourth and fifth places respectively.
RED BULL:
They were quick once again as Sebastian Vettel proudly ended for second place whereas his teammate, Mark Webber was able to finish at sixth place.
It was the sixth time in the past eleven races that Vettel was able to start the race from the pole position however he lost out the first two places for Ferraris. After this race both the teammates stand at third place with equal points. Webber suffered from oil problem towards the end of the race and had to stop at pit.
FERRARI:
The team ended for the first two positions amidst a lot of controversy as Messa slowed down towards the end of the race to give Alonso the first position on the podium. For Alonso it is the second win of the season whereas his 23rd of the career.
However, the team had been handed a penalty of $100,000 following the race for their ordering among the team drivers.
MERCEDES:
The two German racers Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher ended one after the other for eighth and ninth places successively.
For Schumacher the race had been good as he had not been able to do very good right from the start of the race however better results were expected from Nico.
RENAULT:
The Renault driver Robert Kubica finished at 7th, whereas his Russian teammate Vitaly Petrov ended at 10th place.
For Petrov this had been the first time to bag some points since his last since the six points he had in April. For the team it had been a good race overall as this is only the second time this season that both their cars had been able to bring points in a race.
FORCE INDIA:
The Italian driver, Vitantonio Liuzzi finished at 16th place followed by his teammate, Adrian Sutil who ended at 17th position.
Both the team cars collided at the first lap and later a tyre went bad at the first pit stop which proved unlucky for the team though they were pretty good during the practices.
WILLIAMS:
Nico Hulkenberg fell for 13th place holing the tail of his teammate Rubens Barrichello who finished at 12th.
Though they were quick all through the way but due to the poor start, lost positions.
SAUBER:
The eleventh and fourteenth positions were claimed by Kamui Kobayashi and Pedro de la Rosa each.
TORO ROSSO:
Jaime Alguersuari was able to finish at fifteenth place while the other team member Sebastien Buemi retired.
Both the teammates collided at the first lap, when Alguersuari drove into Buemi. He was handed a new front wing while Buemi had to end the race.
LOTUS:
A bad day for the team as both its drivers, Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli retired, Trulli on the fourth lap owing to a gearbox problem whereas Kovalainen in lap 60 after smash into De la Rosa.
HRT:
The nineteenth place came to Bruno Senna while Sakon Yamamoto had to retire on lap 19 after facing a mechanical failure.
Overall it was another bad day for the team as they ended pointless as usual.
VIRGIN:
Timo Glock made to 18th place while Lucas di Grassi retired.
Glock stood ahead all the rookie drivers, despite beginning the race from the last row. Di Grassi faced a broken suspension and had to retire.
