German Grand Prix winner Dani Pedrosa confident of going to Laguna Seca – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda team rider Dani Pedrosa is pleased to leave Sachsenring with a win and head to Laguna Seca for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, which marks the first event of the second half of the 2011 MotoGP season.
After leaving Germany, Dani visited his home for a short while to enjoy the victory with his family. The Spanish rider celebrated his success with his most supporting people who were with him during the recent injury period.
Pedrosa said, “The United States Grand Prix will be another challenge for me. I know that I will suffer more in Laguna Seca because there are many hard braking areas and very fast direction changes. Anyway, it will be another race and I'll try to prepare
well and enjoy it as I did in Sachsenring.”
Although he has dropped to fifth place in the championship after the accident, but his win at Sachsenring has renewed his confidence for the title of the season.
Though he has won the US Grand Prix in 2009 but now with recently recovered injuries, he anticipates that the circuit will prove to be tough for him. The Laguna Seca circuit has a lot of speedy chicanes. He will have to make a lot more effort than he did
in Germany.
Pedrosa further added, “The track is very different to the European circuits and the atmosphere there is special. With the exception of last year, when I crashed, and in 2008 when I couldn't race due to injury, I've always had fun racing in Laguna and the
victory in 2009 was very exciting.”
The Spanish rider said that he wants to enjoy aboard his Repsol Honda RC212V after a long break from MotoGP racing. He looks forward to score best results possible in the second half of the season, as he missed three rounds in first half of the MotoGP 2011
season since the Le Mans incident.
His comeback and win in just the second round after break has made him to end the first half on a good note. Let’s see how he fares in the second one.
