German Open Grand Prix Gold: Ji Hoon Hong slays Hannes Kaesbauer in Men’s Singles qualifying round
Korea’s Ji Hoon Hong proved his worth in the arena as he played remarkable badminton and outplayed Germany’s Hannes Kaesbauer in Men’s Singles qualifying round of German Open GP Gold 2012 in Germany, on Tuesday, February 28.
Ji Hoon was in smashing form as he crushed his local opponent without showing any mercy and ended the match in straight games by taking just 28 minutes in the court.
It was a completely one-sided contest when the Korean showed his aggression and stamped his supremacy over the German in an impressive fashion.
The opening set of the match was interesting in the first few rallies when both men played an attacking game. However, Ji Hoon took over the control and proved his elevated skills by playing with precision.
The Korean executed wonderful strokes in all areas of his rival’s court and did not drop his speed at any stage in the opening game.
On the other hand, Hannes failed to live up to the expectations and also failed to cheer the home crowd as he played negative badminton and remained trailing on the score board.
However, the Korean continued his supremacy in the game and remained successful in taking a remarkable lead until the interval in the first set.
After the break, Ji Hoon did not spare any chance for Hannes to reduce the deficit. He was quite focused and positive throughout the concluding part and bagged the set with a one-sided score of 21-11.
In the second game, the German played with aggression in the opening rallies but failed to execute his strokes accurately.
He threw the bird out of the court on many occasions and remained trailing behind of his opponent on the score board until the 60-second interval.
On the other hand, Ji Hoon was relaxed and focused in the game as he did not play hasty strokes at any stage. He continued his power play and missed no chance of earning points.
The Korean was impressive in the court and ended the second set with a wonderful 21-13 score on the board.
This Men’s Single contest ended with the victory of Ji Hoon, who thrashed Hannes with a difference of 21-11 and 21-13.
